Homes to be fitted with metal roof to prevent fires

Homes are to be retrofitted with an iron roof, which will prevent fires in multi-family residential buildings, assisted living facilities, and commercial buildings, a new government report has said.

The report by the Fire and Rescue Department said the metal roof would prevent the spread of flames to neighbouring properties.

“Metal roofing can be fitted to the interior of the building to protect against the spread and spread of fire,” the report said.

“If a fire occurs within a dwelling unit, the metal sheet can be replaced with a more durable, non-metallic roofing material.”

The metal roof does not have to be of the same type as the exterior building.

It can be made of any suitable material.

“In a statement, a Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said: “Fire and emergency services have a duty to respond to incidents where there is a risk of a fire.

“We encourage people to use their common sense and common sense is what makes the difference in a situation like this.”

For the fire service, there are no guidelines for what is required to be installed.

However, we do recognise the importance of building in the safest way possible and this is the primary approach that we take.

“The report found that the most common type of fire that would occur in multi family residences was from a fire caused by the use of propane gas.

The department said that the report was based on an assessment of current research and data.
